Statement: We study the neurobiological mechanisms underlying the social behavior of rodents. Using novel experimental setups and methodologies that we have developed, we conduct automated and computerized analysis of various aspects of social behavior in rats and mice. Additionally, we utilize chronically implanted electrode microarrays, high-density silicone probes, and optical fibers for in vivo recordings of electrophysiological and calcium signals from the brain, while the animals perform various social behavior tasks. By employing these methods alongside machine learning analyses in genetic animal models, we explore the neuronal mechanisms involved in atypical social behavior associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
